[pertaining to the lasers] but otherwise they looked excellent.
This reminded me of something else. They don't blend at all. They don't have a gradient - they don't glow, they just have a solid color (which is basically the problem with the Prequel Trilogy sabers) with grayish ends.
My big quip is the general effect, really. I'll do a test later to show you what I'd come up with.
At the moment, we use WMM for Vista. We'll be buying the Sony Vegas Platinum Edition in August.
Thats good, though Vegas platinum can't do some stuff like masking.
But it's still good for an upgrade from WMM.

Also thank you CheeseyBricks, Noodle and FilipeJMonteiro for your detailed reviews.
I have a lot to put behind my ear from your tips.
Thank you.

As you wanted critique on the whole video, here goes:

Title Not too bad, better than the average WMM titles, but nothing special. Personally, I would have stuck with one font, as I noticed you had a total of four. If they were pretty similar, then this would be alright, but they were all quite different, especially when there were 2 different fonts being shown at the same time. That's just a personal opinion though. One thing that I know annoys other members is the fact that for a 16 second film, only about 4 seconds were animation, this means you had 3 times the amount of titles to animation, which on a short test like this is pretty pointless.

Set This is more of a side note, but stripy walls irritate me extrememely. Maybe it's just the set builder in me, but it looks rather amature, even for a short test. I wouldn't have made a point like that normally on a test like this, but you asked for a full critique :P

Animation Nothing special here, looked a bit flat to me. It's really asking for some easing out on that recoil. It was smooth though.

Effects The laser wasn't too bad, but the front and back edges could have been smoother. In my opinion, the shots could have gone a bit quicker too.

Not bad, but it could have been improved a lot.

Whether you thought so or not, the speed of the bolt was way too slow. Lasers are light, which tends to move pretty fast. Your laser bolts moved about as fast as water from a squirt gun. Rounded edges would be good, but otherwise they looked excellent. I didn't have a big problem with the animation, though I think the gun raising was a bit slow as well. Also, some environmental light when the gun fires would be nice, but if you're doing the effects entirely within Vegas I don't think you'll be able to do that (at least, not in a way that looks right).
1)Blaster bolts should have round edges. 2)Also, that's not at all how the speed should go, it looks as if it was shot on slow motion. 3)As for the animation, it didn't look that fluid to me and it didn't seem as if you eased in and eased out. His feet were never still. 4)The titles were just basic stuff.
5)Just trying to help.
1) Good tip, I will keep that in mind.
2) I kind of don't agree with you on that, I think it was decent speed.
3) I noticed myself too that animation wasn't that smooth, also next time I will ease in/out little more and keep his legs steady.
4) Yeah, not too little not too much.
5) Thank you for your review.
