Is this because it hasn't installed all the updates and such, or is there another reason?
Yes
Another question, every time there is a window saying something a long the lines of 'are you sure you want to do (whatever the heck it is) Yes : No' the computer will beep, not through the speakers but the actual computer will beep. Is there a way to turn this off?
No. Do you have your motherboard drivers? If not, you're going to have to go find those drivers online to fix the problem and get your speaker sound back because at the moment, the sound card is not working.

And I've said this countless times: Time spent waiting for someone to answer your question could have been spent finding the answer on your own. You probably would have had your speakers working and everything running smoothly before this tech/no-tech forum debate took off.

I have no idea. This is not a tech forum. I would suggest looking up your problem on a search engine.
That, my good friend, is where you are wrong.

No, seriously. This is not a tech forum. This is a forum dedicated to moviemaking, not about how to get your Windows XP to work. Therefore it contains moviemakers, not software specialists.

You would be much better off Googling the problem, or Googling a tech forum and asking there.

I just recently reinstalled Windows XP onto my desktop from the original OS disk I got with the computer. Right now it's acting as if it's in safe mode, like motion isn't as smooth as it used to be, the colors on the login page aren't blended like they also used to be. Is this because it hasn't installed all the updates and such, or is there another reason?

Another question, every time there is a window saying something a long the lines of 'are you sure you want to do (whatever the heck it is) Yes : No' the computer will beep, not through the speakers but the actual computer will beep. Is there a way to turn this off?
