A different font might also help... perhaps this one?
Yes I am using AE however I did not use the partial system to generate the sparks that was stock footage.
The particle emission looks too much like the default. Add some glow, decrease the opacity, play with the particle size, something so that they don't look quite so much like little green lines.
When I imported the spark stock footage into AE I color corrected it from red to green but I lost the glow of the spark. :( I'll try experimenting to fix that.

I looked at the exact same font (:o) but decided against using it since I thought it kinda looked cheesy.
It looks like you've got two layers there, both 2-D, parented to each other with a wiggle expression applied to their position. If it was me, I'd make them 3-D and bring the text layer closer to the camera to add some depth.
I will definitely be doing that.
After flashing on, the sign just clicks off. I'd have it flash for a moment and then turn off. No explosion.
I was thinking about doing that. I'll see how it looks. Thanks everybody for your comments. Keep em' coming.

Nice! I like the wood-burning effect. Noodle has some interesting suggestions. I would try some of them to see how it looks, but good job as is, too. :)

It looks excellent as is. I can only suggest a few things to try. Judging by the particles I saw, I'm assuming you're using AE?

Instead of flashing the entire sign at the beginning, just flash a section of it. That might make it look a little more like a broken neon sign, which I think was the effect you were going for. A different font might also help... perhaps this one?[/*]

The particle emission looks too much like the default. Add some glow, decrease the opacity, play with the particle size, something so that they don't look quite so much like little green lines.[/*]

It looks like you've got two layers there, both 2-D, parented to each other with a wiggle expression applied to their position. If it was me, I'd make them 3-D and bring the text layer closer to the camera to add some depth.[/*]

After flashing on, the sign just clicks off. I'd have it flash for a moment and then turn off. No explosion.[/*]
It looks very nice as is. Not sure if any of the above suggestions will even improve anything, but I'd at least play around and see what you get.
