Hmmm... Some of these comments make me feel like I'm in a room of old men reminiscing about the "Good ol' days", and I too am a victim of this in some ways, recently I aquired these three sets off ebay, and I love them:

And for your question, probably neither- I'd go for the 2010's (tensies?). LEGO has come a long way since the 90's. When comparing sets of the noughties with the 90's, some of you seem to focus on the good sets of the 90's and the weaker one's of now. Back then, you wouldn't have found a set as epic as the Imperial Flagship or as detailed as the Modular houses series. Anyway, those of you wanting those 90's sets, in many ways LEGO is going back to their roots, with the re-launch (and sadly quick death) of pirates and the re-vamp of Castle to come in late 2010, you may not have to buy the sets you want off Bricklink, a remake is quite likely on the way. My personal opinion is that LEGO has positioned itself for a good future and is always improving in set quality.

Can you honestly telll me you'd prefer ths:

to this?

They are bringing some of the oldies back though, like space police is just like, the old space sets and powerminers is pretty much a makeover of rock raiders, they are trying to improve the sets and make them beter, but I have to agree, the 90's sets were better, exept fabuland, those minifigs scare me :o

I hate flesh heads, it is so un-legoish
