if ive learned anything from looking for a mac compatible webcam, ive learned that u gotta start small (quickam 4000) and work your way up.

use a not-so-good webcam and when u get serious about filming, then save up for a good camera.
That's exactly what I did. And it's not that hard to save up for a webcam.

£50 is actually relatively cheap for a good quality webcam. If I were you, I'd keep going with whatever I've got and not waste £30 of my money on a mediocre webcam. Wait until you can persuade your mum (and yourself) that it's actually a worthy investment so you can really excel in your hobby.

Well if you want manual focus, the 5000 unfortunately has to go under some modification. I have the 5000(using the 9000 though), can't exactly remember every little detail but you have to take the rim off, open it up and try to scrape some glue off, so you can turn the focuser(the proper word escapes me) inside. I think there's some good tutorials around, but in the long run you'll be better off purchasing a 9000 for a little more.

Sorry if I explained that poorly, somebody else will probably explain it clearer :P.

I think I'll get the Logitech E3500 or Logitech S7500...

Hmmmm... I dont know which one... apparently they are 'replacements' for the 5000 so I'm guessing they are better...? Or do ya reckon I should try and find a 5000?

EDIT: I might try and find them in a store near me and see if I can 'trial' it and then return it...
