The Logitech is capable of 1600 x 1200. If you are offered something less than this as your maximum you may not have installed the camera correctly.

I copied this from one of my other posts

It may be that you connected the camera BEFORE installing software:- The logitech software will be responsible for saving your settings, the windows driver may not have this facility. Worse still you may have just connected the camera and not be using the software. This will cause the camera to use the windows driver and result in poor quality. The camera will work and the software will, but not at its best.

Installing the camera first sometimes makes it use the windows driver. The QC9000 is unusual in that this order is important. Sometimes you dont even get maximum resolution if you do it in the wrong order.

Completely uninstall the camera and software (using the control panel -> system -> Hardware -> uninstall and also use the Uninstall Programs) , reboot, then insert the logitech driver cd. Connect the camera only when told to do so by the software. This will then set it up correctly.

lol, I have the same webcam as you, and I also use Helium Frog. I love it. I make sure my resolution is set to 1280x720. I also use a MiniDV Camcorder. I don't think you can choose your resolution with AnimatorDV

I've had this problem also. To aide somewhat, make sure the capture resolution on camera settings is set to 640x480 (or whatever resolution you film at) so it doesn't try to stretch a small image.

Alright, so recently as in today I tried out Helium Frog and Animator DV simple, they seem to be good programs BUT, the quality on the preview screen and saved avi is some what bad compared to what the preview screen looks like in the Quickcam software and Monkey Jam. I am using a Logitech quickcam pro 9000, so I expected better quality from those programs. Any ideas? Also, is SMA a pretty good software as well? Never tried it

Thanks,
