Yeah the effect is nice but the lighting could use some fine-tuning. It feels like the background should appear quite a bit lighter, the clouds for example look like they were probably white in the original image but appear gray here. It'd be good to have the white levels be truly white on the backdrop, it might take a higher exposure to achieve that.

I've done some tests finally and I must say I'm impressed with the results

I'm very pleased with this one but I think the lighting in the foreground is too dark though. I had trouble balancing lighting

The side of the monitor is visible in this one and the light is coming from the wrong direction but with a little more work I could probably get it done.

This one is obviously too dark and you can see my tape but I just wanted to show how using natural stuff can make things more realistic. I figured if you're going to have a 'real' background you should use real objects in the foreground.

What do you guys think?

Only just saw this Bastetta. You did this really well. Ignoring the pixelation it blends in very well.

Yes I remember that, I actually have done it once for a cinematographychallenge entry. Though there was some pixelation visible in the background, it worked really well. I'll see if I can find that image again.

EDIT: found it

I've just found that topic from ages ago which I've been looking for for quite a while. It's an interesting technique which I wish to try soon. Has anyone used it in the past if so could I see the results.

Also is Ladon still about?
