Thanks William and @thistof! I definitely upped the ante a bit from the last couple tries at integrating live action. Still far from perfect, but yes.. the time to polish definitely made a difference here.

I liked it. It has some pretty good animation. I thought the combination of stop motion and live action worked seamlessly. I loved that shot at 0:34, when the hand is dragging the figure forward. I thought that shot in particular worked really well. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot. It's a shame you didn't manage to release this on time for the contest, but the end result was well polished, than I'm sure it would have otherwise been, and I think the hard work paid off!

Awesome work. The animation of the character is very smooth and matches the "liveness" of the video quite well. The payoff at the end was clever too.

The saga continues in "Live Meets Stop" where the animator and animated clash. This time, our tiny hero may have the upper minifigure-hand via the power of magic! A failed BRAWL entry. Pay no attention to the stray e's!

Also for the curious, I put up a page that has slight behind the scenes and more general info on my process for animating. Highlights - 24fps to match video speed, and major compositing done in After Effects.

Of course, more than happy to take feedback or suggestions! I haven't animated stopmotion in... 2? More? years, so I didn't have my process nailed down the whole way. Some flicker I was able to mitigate, as well as some camera wobble. I wonder honestly how I used to do it, because I ended up motion tracking every single stopmotion sequence just due to what I presume is camera shutter shake (yes, tripod is taped down, all parts are tightened, I even have my remote capture cable taped to the tripod to avoid any accidental movement on the other end).
