UPDATE

I am so incredibly proud to be able to say that the animation was featured on Brothers Brick! Really couldn't be happier to see my work blogged there, been a longtime reader of the site, and so grateful for their kind words about it too.

Constructing a LEGO Tower Bridge!

YouTube

On September 28th, near Birmingham, we proudly revealed our record-breaking LEGO Tower Bridge, built for Land Rover's unveiling of the new Discovery! To celebrate the occasion, we at Bright Bricks have put together a short animation to take you through the stages of constructing such a huge model, with a bit of fun added in.

This is predominantly stop-motion, so I figured it was okay to post it. Recently I've been working for a LEGO certified professional, running their social media outlets, and this is the first animation I have produced for them.

Some facts about the giant Tower Bridge model:

Total number of bricks: 5,805,846[/*]

Total weight of bricks: over 14 tonnes[/*]

Total height 13+ metres[/*]

Total length: 40+ metres[/*]

No. of builders: up to 24 at one point[/*]
Man hours: just over 12,000
