We have an H1 and it's great, it has a line in, a headphone jack and all the setting and buttons I can think of needing, and it's (relatively) cheep, and can also be used as a USB mic/audio input.
I have used it to record the voiceover on a coming production, plus musical instruments, people talking etc...
there are two things to pay attention to though, it is very sensitive to wind so if your recording anywhere with moving air you will need a 'Dead Cat' for it, and because it's mics are small and light it does not have a very large dynamic range so if you want to go from whispering to shouting wile holding it in font of your face you would need a hand-held mic with a heavier pickup. but as long as your a reasonable distance (a foot or so) from what your recording it works great.
For what it is and the price I have no complaints.

Hope this helps,
    -Mark

Thanks guys! Right now Im looking at the Zoom H1 because it looks like I can record outside sounds and use it for live action. Is that true does it actually perform good in those situations or is it only really good as a studio mic? Also for you guys that record a lot of audio would you ever go outside to get that nice sound?

Thanks a ton

I use a Toner condenser Microphone. I bought it at the reduced price of $18.72. As some of you have pointed out in the past, my audio quality isn't the best (Lego The Transfiguration, for example), but I am currently working on improving my audio quality without buying a new one. I've been watching tutorials on YouTube about positioning and using condensers, and I am hopeful that my audio quality will improve.

Hey I have a question I would really like to upgrade my mic (I have just been using the one on my computer :o ). And Im wondering about if I do live action would it be best to get one that could also plug into my camera, or get separate mic's, and if I get one for all do you guys have any suggestions? Also do you guys think the Blue Yeti is worth the extra money over the snowball? And are there other brands that have better mic's?

Thanks a ton!

I use an Audio Technica ATR2500 USB Cardiod Condenser Microphone. (I bought it for less than $100)
It comes with a USB cord that is long enough that I can have it on a tall microphone stand. I bought a pop filter from best buy for ten bucks. As shown with the blue background.
I use Sony Acid Music Studio for my music editing and audio recording.
