There is some really clever comedic execution here. Nice work.

Overall, the story is very simple, but I like that. It has that brickfilm feel and is enjoyable to watch.

There are several technical shortcomings, however. Some of the animation, not all of the animation mind you, is choppy–a high frame rate does not necessarily mean smooth animation. You may want to experiment with working at a lower frame rate so as to become familiar with the sort of movements you want your LEGO minifigure(s) to perform. Once you are comfortable with your workflow, you can then transition to a higher frame rate. While the animation could use some improvement, I do like the replacement animation of the different facial expressions. It gives a dynamic range of emotional possibility to the minifigure.

Your camera work could use some work as well; particularly in the scene where the officer is doing paperwork at his desk. I think the scene would have been more benefitial if the camera were closer to the subject in order to give the shot a more claustrophobic feel to account for the officer's unease with doing paperwork.

Insomnia Series

Lego Insomnia - part 1

This is my first Lego stopmotion movie. What do you think of it? If you want to give me some tips or ideas, or you have some questions, feel free to let me know :).

A lego stopmotion movie in the Insomnia series:

Meet Lewis, the police officer. It's just another random day, as Lewis goes to his work. Unfortunately, he's going to have a really bad and stressful day. He manages to break his computer. How is he going to fix that? As the time goes on, he's getting only more work. How is he going to feel?

Story for part 2:
Lewis comes home from work. He will try to relax from the bad day at work. When the day ends, he's trying to get some sleep. You know that this series calls Insomnia, so Lewis won't get some sleep. But the question is: what will keep him awake?
