Just watched poth Pokeballins. Leaving aside how extremely incredible amazing they are I can see what you mean now about switching scale; while I'm not going for anything like Dylan's overall style, it's still an extremely useful technique. And those designs you've posted are great - that Venusaur in particular is awesomesauce.

I'll start posting my designs (both minfig scale and other) as soon as I start building. Thanks for the help SlothPaladin!

I would recomend using something like this when you have minifigs in frame

and then cutting to something at this scale for close up on the Pokemon

It's kind of crazy you haven't seen Pokeballin' or it's sequel, Pokeballin' 2, I really recomend watching them and pay attention to the way Dylan switches scales in 2, I think that would be the best route for minifig scale pokemon, you just can't get the detail you want at one scale.

I'm trying to put together some roughly minifig-scale Pokémon for a potential brickfilm (not 100% sure if I'm going to yet). I've got some ideas for how to build a few, and I've seen some good models on sites like MOCpages and Flickr, but there are some specific Pokémon I want to appear that I have no idea how to build. Any help at all figuring these out would be super-great.

First and most important is Jirachi. In the anime, it's like a teddy bear, but realistically it'll likely end up being the size of a minifigure.

Whiscash is normally big, almost like a small car. I'm thinking of using some of those spiny pieces for the whiskers.

I'm considering having a Mudkip as the protagonist's main Pokemon...

...or Lotad. Both Lotad and Mudkip are small Pokemon.

Like I said, I'm not 100% decided on whether I'm even doing this, but any help would be really really really appreciated and I would be super super grateful.
