I use sony Vegas pro, but I've also looked into premiere pro. Premiere Pro is like 30 a month which is a bad thing if you don't have a regular paying job, like me. Sony Vegas is expensive, but you don't need to keep making payments. *cough patch Vegas cough* so, if all you plan on using the software for brickfilming, I would go with sony Vegas. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as Premiere Pro, but it's not hard to use and, you can use an alternative. Instead of Sony Vegas pro, you can get sony Vegas studio platinum, and it's cheaper and almost the same. It's basically up to personal preference and how big your wallet is.

I use Vegas, (actually Movie Studio, but they have the same UI and other such things) and I've tried the demo of Premiere and it's way more complicated with a larger learning curve. Vegas has a similar layout to Windows Movie Maker, which is why I prefer it.

Sméagol explains it well. I have Vegas and Creative Cloud. Since I'm not just a brickfilmer, but a live action filmmaker (and I do a lot for my church's media), I need after effects and PhotoShop and premiere for my specific needs, but you can still make a good film with Vegas, heck, with even movie maker.

Premiere Pro is a professional editing suite. There are real Hollywood films edited using it. I believe this is not the case with Vegas, at least not on a widespread level, and it has a reputation as more of a consumer-grade application.

Understand that this doesn't mean you can't edit your films as well in Vegas. I feel like most people making brickfilms don't need the more advanced capabilities of high-end software, and wouldn't necessarily take advantage of them. It's just not built in the way that industry software tends to be. Some people may prefer it for its ease of use and lightweight performance specs.
Look, this has been on my mind for quite some time and its debatable for which ones better than the other and all that.

But is it really about if one is better than the other? Or is it more about personal preference?

I really want to know what your thoughts are and which of the two programs do you guys use if it is one of the two and why.

Me myself personally use Sony vegas and find it a lot better in my personal experience, it is more easier to navigate and honestly have been using it for quite a while now and absolutely love it.

What are your thoughts?

Premier Pro or Sony vegas?

Sincerely,
Divine.
