Do you have any recommended lenses that you think are worth the money? I'm also thinking about buying a T3i, but I'm waiting until I can line up all the equipment I need to make sure that I don't waste money on something that won't work for my purposes.

There is a difference sometimes between cheap and well, cheap. Many photographers love their affordable 50 MM lenses.
I Googled it and here are my findings:
The website say that the minimum focus is 0.25m.
However, when I test this with my camera it's a lot closer than that. By my approximate guessing I'd say it's about three or four inches.

I've used the default lens many times (seeing that it is my only lens lower than 20mm) to brickfilm and it works fine (for me). I'd recommend it, but it really depends on what you need your frame to look like.
Ok thanks a ton. I think I'm fine if I can get okly close shots. But I would really like to see a pic of how close it can focus without zoom. If someone wouldn't mind posting one that would be much appreciated.

Thanks a ton
If you want cheap, just pick up a nifty fifty. Cheap as chips.
Thanks a ton. I looked it up and it said it has a minimum focus range of 1.5 feet which seems quite far for brick filming I was thinking more like 5 inches or so. Are there any other good macro lenses.
And what about the standard lens that comes with the T3i is it any good for brick filming? Whats the minimum focus distance?
Thanks a ton
