They were both a bit short, but as they are tests I guess I shouldn't worry about it. The medusa one seemed pretty good, and the effect of the lightning was nice. However, as Pritchard said, some on-set lighting effects would be good.
I think a better way to pull of the gorgon effect would be to desature the minifigure only.
I tried that, but the levels of grey were uneven - the skin was pale but the hair was still jet black, so I used Photoshop to make them a bit more even.

I think a better way to pull of the gorgon effect would be to desature the minifigure only. Probably taking a sample of the grey from the same lighting conditions to make sure the hue of the grey is correct.

Medusa:
There's some camera shake, and the animation is a bit rough, but the effect itself looks good.
The ending look is great, and I like the greyscale feel. The transition from not-stone to stone seemed to have a few rough edges, but after cleaning that up and eliminating the set bumps it'll be a pretty sweet effect.

Storm:
The lightening looks good, but the bumpy figure and light flicker ain't so hot.
It needs some sort of animation going on, and then preferably the use of a flashlight to get some nice in-set lighting effects. It could also use a brighter glow around the staff head where the lightening is hitting.

These are both from March, but I thought I'd upload them to my BTS channel just fo da lolz. They're effects that I want to polish up for (possible) use in future animations, so feedback would be much appreciated.
