I agree with Carroll Films that Fruity Loops is very cool. I haven't used garage band (my friend who plays Mark Manchester knows it pretty well). If GarageBand is a VST instrument, I can provide you with some of my favorite VST plugins. LMK! By the way, BEAST is a good one to start. It's great for Synth leads. String Thing and String Thing 2 are fairly good to make guitar sounds.

You can really find one of those in the latest version of GarageBand with the $5 full content purchase. Also when looking for instruments, any instrument that says it will work with Logic Pro will also work with GarageBand.
I thought the GarageBand paid content was only a one-time $5. You could go on and make your own instruments.
Possibly. I'm just kind of looking for orchestral instruments for scoring. Especially a violin. But I'll figure something out. Thanks!

Does anybody here avidly use garageband and know of any free instrument downloads for it? I've been looking around but can't find any free ones that work, and I'm not planning on spending $100 bucks or more right off the bat.

Thanks!
