I don't use a DSLR for brickfilming only for my live action filmmaking and photography work. It is amazing how versatile they are, I have really enjoyed putting mine through it's paces. So if you want to expand beyond animation, they are a good buy.
Ok thanks for the info. If I get one I would use it for more than stop motion.

Thanks
Definitely!!!!!!! I own a T3i, and to improve battery life just buy an A/C power kit, so it never dies!
Would you be able to link to an A/C power kit? I've done searching in the past, but I've never been able to find anything trustworthy, and people I talk to in real life don't even think such a thing exists (which is so helpful /s). I'd love to see where and how expensive I can get one for.

Yah, the link seems broken, I'm assuming it went to the DSLR discussion thread, so here, try this one: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/topic/11122/the-dslr-discussion/ . I have a lot of really long posts on there :P , and just so you know, some of the points in a lot of peoples posts are probably a little out of date now that Canon is no longer selling the T2i, so keep that in mind. :) Also, if somehow you don't find everything you need there (but there's a ton of information), I know more than is healthy about Canon cameras, so if you have any obscure questions, I can probably answer them. :)

There, get reading. ;)

I think the general answer to such questions is that they are....If you are also using them for real-life photos/live action videos. Otherwise, there's not much benefit to off-set the huge pricetag. The average life on them seems to be five to six years, so that shouldn't be an issue.
thanks a ton
yea id be using it for live action and photography to. don't have enough money yet. Just starting to shop.
And the link didn't work for me....

thanks
