Commander Data is my favorite, probably because he's the least normal and I enjoy the performance and idea of the character.
Yes, he does do a great performance, especially when his trying make human jokes, Lol, and how serious his face always is.

The funny thing, you may or may not know, Captain Picard, was meant to receive Data's role, but quoted something in the terms of ''Uninteresting'' ''Boring''. Which is actually quite interesting.

I never knew how many people liked Data, its great, but unusually interesting.
I really like Data thus far, despite the fact he often conveys a lot more emotion than some of the other crew members. I'm waiting for a clever twist where it turns out Data is just part-Vulcan...
LOL I honestly, also though he was part Vulcan!
I'm still only in the first series, and whilst its slow to pick up - it is definitely picking up. The first two episodes were somewhat lacking, and I considered stopping there; but, I decided to carry on and I'm very glad I did.
I agree with you 100%, the first and second, was not a good first impression for the film, but just for Captain Picard, I decided to carry on, since then I have enjoyed it, very much.
I actually found Next Generation more interesting than the original Star Trek
+1
I'd have to say Spot (Data's cat) is my favorite character!
A cat as a favorite character, thats funny  I didn't even know Data, had a cat :o that should be interesting..
Wesley! Suave, stylish, and a real ladies' man.
Ahaha lol so true, it was actually funny when the councilor tried to hit on him, and he picks up and his like I'm taking you to sick bay. +1
Commander Data is my favourite, probably because he's the least normal and I enjoy the performance and idea of the character.
I really like Data thus far, despite the fact he often conveys a lot more emotion than some of the other crew members. I'm waiting for a clever twist where it turns out Data is just part-Vulcan...

The Sci-Fi Channel (I refuse to call it 'SyFy') is currently broadcasting TNG. I was lucky to catch it just as it aired Series 1 Episode 1, and have been watching every episode thus far, so hopefully I'll be able to watch the entire show (providing they don't suddenly stop broadcasting like some re-runs do *COUGH*'The Thick of It'*COUGH*). I'm still only in the first series, and whilst its slow to pick up - it is definitely picking up. The first two episodes were somewhat lacking, and I considered stopping there; but, I decided to carry on and I'm very glad I did.

I already love Captain Pricard. He brings an enormous amount of class to the show - and his intensity is remarkable. He's just one of those people who sells you with every single word. He could be arguing why Hitler was right all along and I would be convinced. Despite the presence of Data, without Pricard the show would have probably been the failure everyone predicted TNG would be. It was because of Pricard I carried on watching the show, and because of this I gradually started warming up to the rest of the cast.

I look forward to seeing what this show has in store for me. Maybe its just because this is scratching the itch 'Doctor Who' couldn't reach (strong characters, good pacing, decent production design despite having a quarter of the budget, and layering the narrative without making the plot impenetrable)

Anything related to Star trek next generation can be spoken about here,

In my opinion I really enjoy Star Trek Next Generation, and consider one of my favorite series of all time, and out of the Star Trek series, (I have not seen all of them) But I do really the Captain, Captain Picard, just a real loyal captain, who I guess anyone would want a captain to be.

Who are YOUR favorite characters in The Next Generation and why?

Also is this one of your favorite SERIES, in star trek or in general?

COMMENCE speech!
