I have the software now but I just wanted to now if anyone knows how good the chroma key is. Is it good enough to use in a film?
Yes, it is very good, but you must have a good green or blue screen. I strongly recomend a professional, green material for photographs.
Actually, the Chroma Key on Sony Platinum is Vvery good, and you're not limited by ANY COLOR. I've done some green screen work, but I've also done stuff on MAGENTA SCREEN!

Here is a link to a music video of mine that makes a very amateurish, but somewhat effective, use of magenta screen. It was done on Sony Vegas Platinum 10 (or it may have been 9). Also, the lip-sync is off very slightly, and wasn't fixed until after posting. And I'm not really in love with the girl in the video. She actually went to school with my wife. And I can't do the robot dance.

Not very, but when you're buying Platinum Suite, you also get Vocal Eraser, which is very helpful for soundtracks editing, or if you download demo of soundtrack. I have Platinum Suite, I do not usually use Sound Forge now, but I sometimes need it for creating music.
I hope I helped,

Are you using Windows (Live) Movie Maker?

If so, I'd say definitely. I made the switch from WLMM when I got Platinum Suite 12 for Christmas, and I wouldn't go back if someone payed me to do it. :P
