I saw some occasional light flicker in the footage. I use a mac, and to prevent light flicker, I installed an app called
Webcam Settings.
I found that same app amazing app after I did the test and put the link in the description
Thanks for offering to help though :)

I use a mac, and to prevent light flicker, I installed an app called Webcam Settings.

I agree, the c920 is significantly better. I use a Mac though, and the c920 doesn't work for Mac, the c910 does. Yes, for him though, it would be perfect.
GBH, if you use Webcam Settings, which you do, the c920 works perfectly with Mac - what gave you the notion that it didn't?
What?? Are you kidding me? My mom got the c920 for me last Christmas, but it didn't work with Mac, so we sent it back. I then got the c910. It says on the c920 box that it only works with Windows!! If only I knew!! I could have used a great camera!! Or you could be wrong.
Well, since I use the c920 to it's full ability on the MacBook, I'd say that I'm not wrong. As long as you have Webcam Settings, everything works. A shame, but the c910 isn't that bad.
Personally i'd reccommend the Logitech c920 webcam over the c910, it has 1080p and and full manual settings including focus. Although it is slightly out of your budget currently at $80 on amazon I'd say its worth it! :)

A really nice one, the one i have now isnt really good it freezes on me. I dont know the exact name but its good.
I would recommend the aGENT v6 webcam
http://www.liquiddigital.com.au

I use it with istopmotion on my mac.
Check out my test footage here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a8bkeVyy44
I saw some occasional light flicker in the footage. I use a mac, and to prevent light flicker, I installed an app called
Webcam Settings.

Anyway, onto IceBrick's topic, I'd suggest a Logitech c910 webcam. If your using a PC, this should work just fine without the app. Here are the specs:

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17516/~/c910-technical-specifications

Also, do you really get that much money for your B-day? That's quite a lot, especially if you plan to buy a laptop! (Anyway, Happy B-day!) :D Hope this helps you!
Sorry - just saw your app link on youtube. I'll try it out, thanx!
Yep :) that app was a life saver for exposure, white balance, ect...
For focus though, the cam has a ring around the lens that works beautifully :)

But does it have manual focus control? When I look at the specifications it does not seem so:

http://www.liquiddigital.com.au/products/agent-v6-webcam#ptab4
Adjustable Video Setting: Brightness, Contrast, White balance, Auto exposure
Manual focus is important!
