I'm just going to reiterate this point, and that is it is always a really good thing to have multiple sources in case one fails. I'm not saying that Bricks in Motion is lame when it comes to actual information, because that is far from true, but imagine... Perhaps BF.com develops into a community of people who brickfilm for fun, and BiM turns into a place for people who are very serious about brickfilming and have thousand dollar set ups, etc. I'm not saying it will happen that way, and I'm not saying that there will be any sort of thing like this, but it is definitely possible for multiple sites to coexist in harmony... :)

PS; Squash, you have an awesome avatar!

Everything I'm going to write here is written as a forum member, not as a member of the staff.

I appreciate a few things you've done here- foremost being the restoration of the original forum posts. There was a great bit of history lost when they were removed, and I'm very pleased to see them re-emerge. I see you've also hidden the posts that were intended to be private, so kudos for that.

Frankly though, at this point I don't see any reason to view an active Brickfilms.com as anything but a competitor. We can claim that BiM and BF can coexist, and they can in the short run, but eventually it seems likely that one will obtain a position of dominance and the other will die off. It's unfortunate, but both sites serve identical functions in what is already a niche community. Personally, it seems to me that BiM is the clear leader in the race for relevance, despite TaaB's claim that "Brickfilms is still the biggest and best resource for Lego movies on the web". As far as I can tell, Brickfilms.com has little to no (current)user-created resources in its heralded resources section; the vast majority of your content was written by people who have either moved on from the hobby entirely or now primarily visit BiM. Brickfilms.com's primary draw isn't what it is- it's what it was.

As an aside, how receptive would you be to requests from the original content-creators to remove those articles from the site? I don't mean this to sound rude; I'm genuinely curious about the site's current policy.

Look, it's great that someone who appears to be enthusiastic about brickfilming is trying to actively participate in the hobby, but I think you (and everyone else reading this post) should really consider whether attempting to revive the largely opaque and thus far terribly managed website that Brickfilms.com has become is really the best way to move the hobby forward. Regardless, I think everyone should be aware that in my opinion, Brickfilms.com and BricksinMotion are in direct competition. I believe the community behind each site will be the primary factor in deciding which remains relevant going into the future.

The way I see it, the hobby is so small that there doesn't need to be loads of sites, therefore meaning we are competing for the same people. If we are competing for the same people, then you should find other means of advertising, youtube, being your best resource, and if new people see your site they may hang around for a little while... until they find this site....

Mickey, the reason I keep on advertising and not living Brickfilms.com is that the forum really experienced many consequence over this past years. I just can't take that the site was ruined and turned into a ghost town. Some of many successful animators and independent film makers have been on the site. The site was there source of information when they were still on the start of there taken career. It really is heart breaking knowing they are leaving just because something and someone is making a argument.

To be honest, BiM is the 1st brickfilming site I registered on. The site was really useful in my animation projects. Very detailed tutorials. Then I end up signing up for the both. Even though Brickfilms.com has no one to talk to. It has great resources and tutorials like BiM.

I really oppose on some making the both sites having a war or something.
I like both sites to get along.

Me and some of the old members are really trying to resurrect the forum. Thinking for some interesting features to add so that the members would not be bored staying. All I ask is for some of you to not close the doors of having two forums. But then again, I don't force it. I know some would say "I'm contented with BiM", and I totally respect that.

I know I am such a headache. So please forgive me for explaining.

I dont think this is spam, and I think your attempts to bring back Brickfilms.com are admirable - but its like an old childhood home: we've all moved on and even if we do return its never going to be the same.

Now, if you bought it back during the days of 'The Refugee Camp' - then we would have all returned...
