What he's talking about is using his TV as a larger screen. His tv probably is not that new so that means it does not have the necessary connections to hook to the camera, thus he uses the vhs player sorda of as an adapter. I have the same kind of situation here at my house. Makerimages, whatever works better for you. Just remember, the more wires involved, the more likely something like accidently bumping the camera is going to occur.

If there needs to be a VHS player involved at any step of the way, you need a new camera.
I would suggest the Logitech Quickcam 9000pro webcam.

If you still want to do this using the camera you currently have, you'll need a capture card for the PC, which can cost up to $1,000.

Again, what are you trying to do? Capture and store images/videos onto VHS tapes? Display live video from the camera onto your TV? Those are the things you can do given what minimal information you have given us.

Neither cord is necessary if you're animating in the 21st century with a digital camera and PC. The important cord would be the USB cable to transfer your images.

Looking at the specs of your camera, though, I don't see much in the way of manual control, which is necessary for stop-motion animation.
I think he's talking about plugging in his camera to a bigger screen so he could see the display better.
It almost sounds like he may be using an old vhs camera for capturing. Could be and I'm sure I'm wrong though
