Good thought. I agree.

Perhaps this thread should be closed?

I'm not really sure why we need to endorse ideas in the first place if we aren't contributing anything more to the discussion. Does it really matter if "Squash likes this post"? It doesn't help anyone who might be reading through the topic, and the forums aren't large enough to require it as a means toward highlighting interesting discussion. People should be able to decide how they feel about a post without knowing that ten other members "like" it. I honestly can't see what something along this vein would add to any discussion, aside from the potential for a lot of crying about its abuse.
I don't really see the reason of having a "thumbs up" system. We can judge by ourselves wether the post it's good or not. If you want to show that you agree with an opinion or think someone else made a valid point with his post, you can just post that, and maybe add something to the discussion instead of just saying "yes I agree". That's all.
yes I agree

I like the simple "nodding one's head in agreement." If I like something and I'm looking at the computer monitor I nod my head with satisfaction. Maybe a fist pump or two if I really like it... I kid.

Up-voting or liking something does not automatically make a post golden. Some posts may help lots of people while others help one with a very specific problem. What I like about the community is our own sense of space- you already know most of the stuff you find here you're going to like.

If something is truly helpful it will make its way into the resources section or be highlighted on the front page of the site or people will link to it in posts so others can benefit.

The people who help run this site have much more important matters to attend to. If you like someone's post why not write about why you liked it in another post? This is a discussion forum.

Have fun,
Jared
