Next week, I'll be going into 'Blender101', but I'll also release 'Importing and setting up whole models' for those who have a good understanding of the program.

Week after next, we get into Maya.

Double Post

Jing !%$#*&@ sucks.

When the video is recorded, it looks fine, but when it is exported, it becomes a 70x70 black square.
I'm using Bandicam, and recording in a region that is large enough to cut out the watermark.

I will be on schedule.

Good news.

I tested out some recording with Jing yesterday, and the newest version yields better results then the older one.
There will be lag, but nothing that will make the video unwatchable. I will be recording the first episode tomorrow, and getting it up some time relatively soon after that.

Thanks for being so patient!

Hmmm... It would be nice to have brickfilm-specific tutorials for Blender, but I would be wary on this topic. Like the great Blender Artist Andrew Price said, you can't become dependent on tutorials; otherwise you won't be able to think or problem solve for yourself down the line. If you want to know how to animate Legos in blender, look up armature tutorials and apply that knowledge that you learned to brickfilming.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: don't watch tutorials to learn the process, watch tutorials to learn the techniques.

With this in mind, there are many great websites out there that contain blender tutorials (in order that I have found most helpful):
Blender Guru
Blender Diplom
CG Cookie
Blender Artisits
CG Tutorials
Blender Cycles.com

I hope this helps!

I suppose, but he might be able to make a more concise Blender tutorial that go over the basics that "matter" to a brickfilmer; I have watched the Blender tutorials on the Blender website, and I understand some basic stuff, but having a more relevant tutorial might be good for the general brickfilming community.

I actually meant some Blender Brickfilm tutorials would be cool. But yea, I see what you mean.

and the basics are still the same whether your Animating a balloon or a Minifigure.

but I understand what your saying maybe learning to model stuff like balloons isn't the best place to start. :/

The idea is that ZP would do Blender basics that would move watchers in the direction of using Blender in brickfilms, so he probably wouldn't teach things like modeling a balloon or anything. Also there are hundreds more brickfilming tutorials out there, many of them by other famous animators.

This would be very helpful.

I don't know if you should do Blender basics.
There are lots of other websites for that
but tutorials on Lego animating (In Blender) would be very nice!
