Larry, I don't think that's true.
In my time Brickfilming, I have used almost every type of lightbulb that can be acquired.
So far, I have not found one that beats the daylight LED bulb.
Now, you may shy away from LEDs due to the price ($10 per bulb) but I got mine on sale for about $5 per bulb, and that was about a year ago, so the price will have probably gone down by now.

A good light bulb is a dead light bulb. Oh wait that goes for bugs. There's no good light bulb, it has to be consistent, that's all. And of course it depends on the camera you're using and it also depends on the software you use for color grading and so on.

The main key with lights is to be consistent. Make sure all the bulbs are the same kind; the same applies to your room lights. If you room lights are incadescent, use incadescent bulbs. If your studio lights are fluorescent, replace your incadescent bulbs so it all matches.

I personally prefer using fluorescent bulbs because it's not hot, but the power typically isn't as great.
Full-spectum (white) bulbs, 40 watt. Also, you need at least three lamps to get balanced lighting.
Not necessarily, but it's recommended. As for the bulbs themselves, agreed, but the way your pictures look depend as much on camera settings as on the bulbs. White bulbs are good, colored bulbs can add cool effects as well.
