It depends on the gas. Some gasses are heavier than air, and thus sink. This is what makes Chlorine gas so dangerous.
Oh, right.

Well, to animate a gas like that, you would make it go strait out and slowly sink to the bottom and disperse to the sides. It doesn't just drop like a rock.

And another thing; gas moves slowly unless propelled out of something or something is moving air towards it rapidly. So once it's shot out of the gun, it would move forward fast then slow down.

The only thing that needs some improvement is how the gas moves. Cotton can work really well for smoke or gas if animated right. The main thing to remember is that a light gas moves up and disperses. If you do that, then it'll come out really great.

Just a simple tool in photo shop I can quickly use to add the colour in a few seconds. :)

(Though, I would rather have actual green cotton, since it would look slightly more realistic, but I don't think anyone would sell that)

It will have a better feel to it when the sfx are placed. I'm sure it'll be a gassy sound from the gun rather than a thud lol :)

What exactly did you use for the gas, cotton? I would suggest after it starts to come out sorta pressurized, to start slowing it down so it looks more like gas. Great job on this.
