Got the Samson C01U. Very nice mic, but can't compare it to other mics.

However, I did discover that a decent quality USB port on the computer is also a factor:
On my Dell mini 10v, i got a lot of noise on the signal and the result was pretty crappy.
When I connected this to a different computer, the signal was clean as can be, near perfect.

So yes, the mic is important, but don't underestimate the rest of the equipement in the setup.

Well it depends, the Snowball is pretty good and is only $50 cheaper than the Yeti. And if you are saving to get a new camera, I would go with the Snowball. Probably the best choice for your situation.

As the title states, this is where you can all discuss general opinions, tips, info and more about microphones. Full reviews on certain microphones are appreciated. Tips are always a good thing to post as well. And finally, everyone should help one another with their microphones problems if any are posted here. If you guys want to know what microphone I use, I use the Blue Yeti microphone which is around $150, but it is definitely worth saving up for. It is a great microphone for voice acting of any kind. Also very good for instrumental recordings.

So go ahead and start posting everyone! Have fun!
