Scooby-Doo isn't just for "children's mystery"... a lot of MY film ideas are inspired by Scooby-Doo. It's only a children's mystery depending on how you execute the plot.

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes:

The secret for writing a detective film is to write a story about a crime. For example, Mr. Morris blackmailed Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown didn't like it so he hit Mr. Morris with his car. A story like that can be elaborated into an imperfect but successful attempt and therefore, a case. Just leave evidence and your character will have all the basic needs, a story to decipher, clues, and suspects. I would watch some reruns of Monk or Matlock, and watch play throughs of the cases/ play cases from LA Noire which are usually pretty inspirational. I would only watch Scooby-Doo if you were aiming at either specifically a fraud case, or a children's mystery.

If I were you, I'd watch Scooby-Doo on TV. That would give you an idea of how to do it. Basic plot: Something happens, someone/some people show(s) up to solve the mystery, he/they look(s) around for clues, he/they act(s) on what is found out, he/they find(s) and/or capture(s) the culprit(s). Also, it's important not to let the viewer know who did it until the end.

The series that I am about to make is named "Integrated Investigation". The story follows 3 undercover agents that solve the crimes of London. The first season I hope will start in either late November or early December, I am currently working on the first script called "Convicted". I want the series to have some similarities to Law and Order, Torchwood and Criminal Minds while still having original story plots and characters.

For the first series I will have 6 episodes (British style), and I am going to write 3 max. If you wish to write a script then please apply in the responses section below. Because this is a series with several characters I will show the first script to whoever applies first so they get a sense of what goes on in the series.

If you have any questions regarding this series please reply, and remember to keep checking back here for Updates.

This thread was originally a post asking for advice on a detective film but as of recently I have found out my plot.
