You do realize minifigures have nothing to do with original storylines, right?

I'm guessing not.

I think original has to do with how the story is executed, not whether they're licensed or not. Like I made this completely original video of a clone trooper who crashes on a planet and goes mad, and then this old man turns into a zombie, and then the duck! (I never published it because the animation was no good)
But I would agree that it's a lot easier to make something more original with characters you invented yourself, for obvious reasons.

I think he's serious, so I'll fill him in. Minifigures from your imagination are more original because original means you came up with it on your own. Minifigures from licensed themes are from stories already told, so they're unoriginal.

Non-themed is original. If you make a Star Wars Brickfilm or an Indiana Jones Brickfilm or a Batman Brickfilm (not as much), people will say it's unoriginal and other brickfilmers have do it like 10000000000 times before. I personally like non-themed more.

EDIT:

I was thinking about this recently..........Everyone likes to create Brickfilms with Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones minifigures
and those movies can be totally original sometimes. But I like the idea of creating original Brickfilms with "non-themed" minifigs (like the good old yellow ones).

So begs the question: What would be more original, "themed-minifigs" (Star Wars, Batman, Indiana Jones etc...) or "non-themed minifigs"?

Describe why you think filming with either kinds of minifigs is better or worse.
