Glad you liked it :) You can check out the content commentary I put on the same channel if you want "more to think about" ;)

As for blenderartists, I guess it's more to do with minimal to no response to most things I create, and though a good artists shouldn't be driven or solely motivated by the responses of the audience, it certainly has high impact. Outside of BiM I use the username TheDuckCow if you're curious…

That is interesting. I am on their a lot also (same name). I am a lot more into CG than brickfilming though. To bad you feel that way.

Glad you guys liked it! :D

@mcoov
Sad to hear that's the case... One thing I really liked about the brickfilming community was that it was really open and generally positive to those who were just getting into it. As I've been getting more into cgi animation, I've been posting stuff and writing in the forum called blenderartists, and I don't think I've ever felt so alone...

As for the directory aspect, it seems it just recently was implemented. It's a shame that films won't get the personalized review, I always liked to hear what the respectable review pannel had to say, but it probably is the best move since they can't plausibly keep up with the incoming flow of films. I wonder if it would be a good idea to promote forum members to submit their own reviews to certain films if they choose (of course being moderated before posted, otherwise it would just become a comment space). Just a thought ;)

Thanks again everybody, happy brickfilming!

As much as I would love to say it's just you, in some respects it is not.
I've looked at some recent threads and it's filled with arguments, last year's end of year awards fell through apparently (and I finished the commentary now hoping to get some revival notice for this year's BiMa...
We've had an influx of newer, younger members while the veterans have left, either announced or unannounced. Some of us are still around, but not too many.
and as for film reviews, it seems nothing has been 'approved' into the film section since well before Design Flaw was release, something like last March.
The directory is being redesigned to eliminate the review panel, as their duties have become essentially unnecessary, and many of them are not finding the time to commit to their posts.

*epicbump*

So yeah, like I added to the original post, I completed my commentary on the themes and ideas behind my last stopmotion film. Sadly, now being in university, I have not been (nor will be anytime soon) able to brickfilm, hence I've been experimenting in other mediums....

Is it jsut my imagination, or is BiM dying down as a forum? I've looked at some recent threads and it's filled with arguments, last year's end of year awards fell through apparently (and I finished the commentary now hoping to get some revival notice for this year's BiMa...), and as for film reviews, it seems nothing has been 'approved' into the film section since well before Design Flaw was release, something like last March. Is there more going on with the community that I've missed, like an anticipated all around switch to another website or something? Just curious.

Anyways, as always I appreciate any response and I'm still very grateful that some people have taken something from my work. Happy animating/etc!

…yeah, comedy or high action isn't exactly what I was intending with this film, the aim was to be more intellectually engaging as opposed to more direct excitement.

I've begun to script out my commentary on the deeper meaning of the film/subtle details, though it will be a few days before I've got it uploaded~

EDIT: lol, turned out to be a few months

Well, I don't agree with the fun and comedy stuff, and with the action it could have turned out in something else. It's perfect like it is. I wasn't really giving much attention to the effects, the only thing that bothered me a little was the wind on the mic, because I couldn't avoid hearing it. But still. great storyline, amazing animation, I have to say I liked more the first part of this film than the end.
As lechnology says, it does remind me Gattaca and Logan's run. Anyway, very interesting concept, we should have more films like this (I'm a fan of the sci-fi genre). While I was watching, I wished it to last longer, but it would have taken a lot more. 4/5

Whoa... :O That was impressive.
Hats off to you for making such a long movie, with still smooth animation and frame rate.
As everyone seems to have mentioned so far, the green screen didn't turn out very well. But, it's merely a little design flaw. xD
I would suggest instead of using blue screen for the sky to use some sort of large backdrop. For my films I use a huge canvas painted blue. It work pretty well. Unless you perfect your green screen.
The only other thing I didn't really like was the lack of fun and comedy, and action. Typically I prefer the wacky random adventurous brickfilms. xD However, it's pretty much impossible to keep up a high level of seriousness with fun and comedy, and I still enjoyed it anyway. Though, a fight of some battle near the end would be so cool to have.

Thank you all so much for your kind words! It really gives me great joy to hear my work being appreciated :)
I'm sure after this point whatever stopmotion I will be doing shalt be in HD, henceforth giving more data to be keyed (that and I now have a very good idea of what does and doesn't work)

I'm honored, though, to be hearing this film considered even if by a few as 'classic'
Eventually, in the next month or so hopefully, I will be uploading either one or two commentaries: one for the production process and technical aspects, and the more important one that dives into all the minute details and specifics of the story that I almost can't imagine everyone would grasp with one or two views.
