It just says 'EOS Utility' not any clue about the type. I have got the animatorHD software instead, which works...but usually it does not work. What I do not understand is: How come sometimes it notices it amazingly, and sometimes it notices but does not connect? :S

What EOS utility are you using? A camera can only talk to one thing at a time, so if you're already feeding images to something, Monkey Jam, SMP, etc won't be able to see it.

Hmm...it might be your computer, what operating system is it running on? Some computers don't like to recognise cameras with older/newer drivers and/or software.

If all else fails, you don't have to actually take the pictures in the monkeyjam program. you can often do it in software that comes with the camera, or in Windows Movie Maker (which doesn't neccessarily mean using WMM for the animation, its just where you hace the ability to save the pictures), or even just in my computer (or just computer for windows 7)> find your camera and double click on it and it should go to what the camera sees automatically.

All of these solutions take time, so bieng able to do it in monkeyjam would be ideal, but if you cant, then you'll have to save them in my pictures using whatever method you like and then import them into monkeyjam.

That's all going on the assumption that the computer actually recognises the camera, if it doesn't, then you've hit a dead end and you'll have to buy a new camera or operating system, neither are that cheap, but i'd rather be buying a camera than a whole new operating system. :O
