Joker's Backstory.....

Joker once had a wife, and a child on the way, no job, and the child wasn’t his. He tries to work as a comedian. He tells the funniest joke he knows, no one laughs, he pleads with the boss, he needs a job, “so?” says the boss, the Joker is now fuming mad, he is forced out. He comes back a week alter with a plan, he is going to Kill every one in the club, with acid, so they start on the building, the sprinklers start with the acid, the bottom of the building and the stage is starting to fill with it, the people leave their seats and head to the back of the Club where it is higher, he comes out on to the stage with the water almost as high, “Now do you see the funny side?” some guards run at him, he fights the four off and they go in to the acid, the boss kicks him, the boss and him go in to the water, Joker comes out as the White skinned, Red lipped and green haired man he is today. The Joker Fears the same as batman, he thinks that when he dies his name will disappear for ever.

Personally I think it is Ok to Change Part of his backstory, because, you know, I've read servral in the Comics, and he himself said that: "If I'm going to have a past, I'd like it to be multi choice."
Besides I only changed where the Acid was, that is all I Changed.

By non kill I mean you don't see him Kill, but then again, he may kill as yet i do not know, in some of the oldest batman comics, Joker was a 'No Kill character' same as batman, it is in his 'code of Practice'(not to sure what to call it) that he doesn't Kill or Use Guns, CATWOMAN is also an interesting character, I've never scene a brick film with her in it, and plus, Poison Ivy is rarely used. the great thing about writing Batman brickfilms is the Villains, they are so cool.
Here's the teaser trailer for my batman series, most of it is actually test shots.

If you'd simply forgotten the "k," I wouldn't have said anything. I'm not that big a [expletive]. It's "mockumentary," not "mockumentality." Took the liberty of fixing it for you.

I feel obligated to contribute to this thread as something other than the grammar Gestapo, so I'll simply say this... be careful not to change things simply for the sake of changing things. There's nothing wrong with taking an existing franchise in a new direction, but if you're going to turn the Joker into a no-kill character, that fact needs to factor heavily into the story.

You are right, a Imaginative film would always be great, the list was not so much like a set of rules but maybe some thing to keep in mind. I've only scene parts of Adams Batman, but at home we have the very first batman series.(yes there was one before West) it was still in black and white and didn't have the 'BAM' stuff, but it was an interesting story. I think it is possible to create a New version of Batman as such but still be faithful to the characters. I think it prudent to look in to the characters Psychology(their mind) when writing a batman or any other brickfilm. Like in the Batman one i am righting now, Joker is Crazy, mad, but he never kills(Changed that! he kills a hole lot of people.....) 'cause it would put them out of Misery' But in the film Bat's is still the Crime Fighting(he could do with a Bit of Practice)Batman that still has nightmares of his parents murder.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with changing a character to suit the needs of a story. I mean, I agree that the current Batman is at his best when he's using more than his utility belt and his fists, but it's prudent to remember that Batman himself has not always been that character. For a while during the camp period people scoffed at the idea of a serious Batman the same way they scoff at West's rendition now (Note: I really like the old Batman show, and I know others who appreciate it as well, but if I had a dime for every person who got upset because it 'ruined Batman'...).

Ultimately, I agree that people should expand their knowledge on the franchise they are working with and make their films accordingly, and I also agree that they should try to show some respect to the cannon rather than just filming a Batman film for the sake of views, but I don't agree that a character or environment should be strictly limited as a set of rules would imply. If someone has a unique twist or idea that they think would advance the characters from an existing work, I'd much rather see that than a totally faithful but unimaginative fanfilm.

g'day
thought to write a 'code' of honour.
Batman
with batman, although he will use very cool fight moves he is 'the worlds greatest Detective' so batman films should not be all about fight scenes. a Good batman film should also talk about his childhood, remember he hates crime. (some rules would not apply if making a Mockumentary or Spoof.)
Robin
'oh Boy i wonder'
Robin is not the lame stupid jerk that everyone thinks he is, he CAN keep up with batman. if he is not a great detective he should be left out. remember that Robin had a past like batman. his(!@#$ Grayson, Jason Todd) parents where murdered. now, Tim Drake is the coolest Robin, Batman didn't draft him, he found out how Batman was.
Don't stick to the Lego batman characters. make other batman characters, look on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Batman_Family_enemies for other batman bad guys.
if you do make a Lego Batman Film, do some research
now on to:
STAR WARS
get a good plot, solid animation, a good fight scene(star fighter, Jedi, Blaster) and develop the characters.

with an Action Brickfilm do a lot of fight tests, have them chase each other(on foot, in the car......) and have EPIC action shots
I hope this don't sound to mean i just wanted to give my opinion on what makes a great Brickfilm, tell me what you think.
