If you're camera has the ability to have live feed go to a stop motion program, make sure you use that due to the great feature of onion skinning. Though if you're not able to do that, you might have to do what I usually do. I basically use lots of sticky tac (or maybe even some X-Tra Sticky Sticky Tack, though i have never tried that) attached to my tripod attached to my desk.. If you're using a webcam, make sure to follow a tutorial on creating a cradle, and if you can't find a tutorial one the webcam you have, be creative and make a custom version. I'm even sure that it's possible for certain types of digital cameras.

I would avoid duct tape, as it's too strong and can leave residue on the desk and camera. Sticky tac is much better for legos.

If you use a DV camera, I would suggest putting the tripod to the side of your set, as far away from you as possible. When the camera's on a tripod, it is extremely easy for it to move if it's close to you. I've experienced this problem myself, so I try to build my sets that allow the camera to be at one end of the desk, and myself at another end.

What is a good technique for keeping your camera very still? Because, no matter how hard I try, I still get a little wobble in the playback (which otherwise I wouldn't mind too much except that when you are masking....). Especially when you are cloning lots of minifigures, it is hard. I managed to do it pretty well while doing a short pioneering test Sunday but that was only three pictures...
Any suggestions?
