And Nobody had better go after me or Mcoov claiming these people are adding to the thread, because if somebody wanted to hear these people worship Mac computers, they could go to the section on the Apple Website made just to slam PCs.

get a mac!!! they are much more easir to use and produces better results when it comes to film-making. they are also more secure and don't get viruses as often as pc. here is my philosiphy of operating systems:

Get a PC if you are doing business stuff and/or gaming
Get a Mac if you are doing film-making and other arty farty things
Get a Linux (which is free) if you are a programmer.

It's funny, i know someone who is so obsessed with linux that he carries it around on a flashdrive and plugs it into a public coputer whenever he needs to use it...

Overall I prefer MACS

Good choice. Macs do limit software etc. for brickfilming. But you can have all the good stuff work with Mac, and seeing as macs are big bucks, users should not be afraid to spend big bucks on software. Example, qc900, monkeyjam, helium frog, they don't work on mac, but you can get Dragon stop motion, more expensive cameras, all adobe products, etc. which are all equivalent or the same as high end windows compatible software and hardware. I personally prefer the Mac OS, less buggy, crashes less, and most of all, is much faster. Sometimes i run into limitations, but rarely. One of my biggest irks with mac is that my MP3 isn't compatible, buts its dieing anyway, and I just got an old ipod recently that is almost identical.

Any mac OS X is amazingly good but it costs 1,200 us dollors. Windows have made many different versions to go with I suggest just get Windows 7 it has a lot of the same stuff as a Mac but cost a lot more. MacBooks and Dell laptops don't compare! MacBooks are a lot cheaper and run a lot more faster than Dell.

I have to say Mac OS on this one

Well here's what it is guys. I've decided I would want to get a mac, being (as you guys already brought up) its got bootcamp, so I'll still be able to use Stop motion pro action HD with it (which is what I want to get). I'll also be using it for my GCSE, being as the media department at school use it. I'd be one step ahead of everyone else if I already know about final cut express (which I'll probabally get). I read on SMP's site that it works great with bootcamp and parallels.
But I'm just wondering if a QC pro 9000 will run on boot camp. If not, I suppose I could get a DV camcorder, but that would be extra money. Then I would be able to shoot in HD on SMP with a QC pro 9000, correct?
