The problem by the walker was the engage of the articulated joint .. but nevertheless you are right it could be smoother! I will try .. next time ;)
I was inspired by the laser of the shadow ships that appears in the science fiction series Babylon 5.

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[The CGI was fantastic, as well as the keying and lighting.  The only thing that really bothered us was the fact that the robot movement was very choppy, and its laser also seemed quite cheesy.  Other than that though, it was a masterpiece! :D]]></content>
