But I guess you probably won't be making creepy lego horror films. There's a lot of free software out there which is just fine for beginners, namely MonkeyJam.

Hey Joey, welcome to BiM.

The LEGO Studios software wouldn't be the best software to use as it is stinking OLD. (Ten years as said before. Almost as old as you. :P)
I'd say your best bet if you'd be willing to pay ten dollars for a software, you shouldn't get a software. If you even find a software for ten dollars, most likely it's going to suck. I'd suggest saving up your money to get Stop Motion Pro, which is a fairly easy software to use.The cheapest version is 70 dollars. I use Stop Motion Pro, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Here's the website of SMP.

Also, if you don't want to save up 60 more dollars, you could just get a free animation program. MonkeyJam is a really good free software.
Here's the website for MonkeyJam.

I hope this helps! :)

Anyway, you're much better off checking out the free software online, Squash linked to another thread in which you can find a bunch of great programs.

I'd reccomend trying out Anasazi or Monkeyjam, though Anasazi is easier if you're only just starting out.

I also have never used the Lego Studio software, but by all accounts it was pretty terrible, and seeing how it is now quite old, you would be better off getting software from here: http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/topic/68/the-free-software-list/
That list should have everything you need to get started brickfilming, all for free. Fortunately, it doesn't take much to get into brickfilming, you can start out with something like MonkeyJam or Anasazi and Windows Movie Maker and make a fine film. Lucky for us it's all out there free for the taking.

Welcome to Bricksinmotion by the way! Be sure to check around the site and see what's here to see, we'll be glad to help with any questions you might have.
