Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 is amazing and is only around $100. You would need a sequencer in order to use it though some of which are free. Go to Garritan's site to check out which ones are compatible.

Hazzat's link to CS4 proves that there is. I don't know why I didn't look there before as I have an account on the site. But yes anyway who do you know who has it?

Soundbooth is just a sound and audio editor, it's kind of hard to create a piece of music from scratch in it. If you can't play or read music, you're probably best suited to get a music loop software, Sony has one called Acid(?) which comes in the same price range as all the vegas releases (home, platinum, pro) which I imagine would be around 50-400 pounds.

Edit: You can get Sony Acid Music Studio from £45, and Acid Pro at £245.

Again, you're not going to find soundbooth much use at all, unless you're using another software to create the music, or recording it.
Well, it's not even close to 1000 euros-that-I-don't-know-how-to-make-the-sign-for-on-the-computer, so if you had to you could get that. And I'm not exactly aware if Garageband works on a PC, although I think you might be able to make it work. But if all else fails, you could get Magix Music Maker 15 ($50-60). I wouldn't reccomend it, but it's better than nothing and there is an option for you to make your own tracks. Or use a program like Finale Notepad (it's quite nice, but I understand that you have to pay like $30 for it or something).
£ is actually GBP, € = Euro. Anyway I did some googleing and found some things out about those. Garageband doesn't work on PC, however Adobe Soundbooth CS5 does look like its worth the money. I just don't know whether I would get my moneys worth out of it. That's something for me to think about for the next year or so.

Thank you for your help.
