Also, with black and white you can color some parts to add emphasis to something important. As in the movie Schindler's List (it was done in black and white), there was a little jewish girl wearing a red coat, who is later seen dug up from a mass grave, and it added a LOT of emphasis to the theme of the what a horrible thing the holocaust was. Just another thing to consider.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlFrneHrr6Q

The main key to a horror themed Brickfilm is the music/sound and lighting. I did Black and White since it helps build suspense a bit. Also with Black and White, do NOT use Ketchup, it doesn't show up that good, use Chocolate Syrup, that's what I used in the clip.

An amazing example of a Lego horror film would have to be Malheur, by wirss (on YouTube). It is very well done, and I think that you could examine some of the techniques used to see what makes a good Lego horror film. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-93hBxM3aQ
Hope it helps! ;)

EDIT: Yes, it is more of a drama, but the thing I'm getting at here is that the audio was used to create a feeling of suspense or tension, and the camera angles added to the effect.

The scariest brickfilms I've ever done were these, maybe you should check them out and see what's wrong and what's good on them?

This is a bloody Lego Vampire Attack - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjS4WZDuNiI make sure you watch it till the end, cause the 2nd. half of the video is the "scary" one.

This second video was an inspiration from a movie called "30 Days of Night" I've decided to recreate that 'faces covered in blood' effect from the live action movie into a brickfilm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UZ5PuIA3BA

Tell me your oppinion if you find it scary at all. If you do, I'll give ya some tips if you want to.

This thread is teh funneh.

There are no "best techniques" for making a horror brickfilm. There's no one-size-fits-all camera setting or a particular best kind of special effect. Perhaps you had a more specific question?
