Actually, they do. Many brickfilmers and industry professionals prefer vintage Nikkor lenses. You know, the ones without electronics. Here's a topic about that: https://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/topic/20962/the-best-lenses-for-your-dslr/
Each frame is about 5 seconds long even though it's 15 fps.
As for Premiere, you have to interpret the footage after importing a sequence.

After this, then you can drag it down to create your timeline. If this isn't working, it might be an issue with your Sequence. Have you looked in your Sequence settings to make sure it's set to the right framerate? Also, are you only selecting the first image when importing and not importing each image individually? Because Premiere imports a folder of images as a sequence when you select the first in a sequence.

Hope this helps!

Hey Brickman,
Thanks for your message. In terms of lenses, I'm aware of the macro filters, I have them. However I need a lens ha ha. Can't use any nikkor lens as nikon does not adapt to Canon. They just don't sadly. So not an option sadly.

Hey Andrew,
I'm aware of how to do that but my issue actually has to do with when you import it still doesn't adjust the speed of the actual frames. (Each frame is about 5 seconds long even though it's 15 fps. I tried google. Didn't find any answers regarding this quite specific question. I'll try it again, maybe there's been an update in premier.
Appreciate your help anyhow! If it works will update.

Regarding the Premiere Pro question: You should import all your images as an image sequence and then adjust the frame rate (of the imported image sequence) to the frame rate you used to animate (eg: 15 fps).

Here is a quick article on that: https://helpwiki.evergreen.edu/wiki/index.php/Image_Sequences_-_Premiere_Pro
You can obviously find more help + many video tutorials on this with a simple Google search.

Hope that helps :)

Never used Premiere, I’m a Power Director guy. But as far as lenses, there’s no reason to spend money on a macro lens that’s only good for close up shots. Any lens can easily be turned into a macro lens with a set of inexpensive macro filters. They’re basically just magnifying glasses that screw on the the lens. You should be able to find these for about $15 on sites like Ebay. As far as the lens itself, my recommendation is an old manual Nikon Nikkor lens via an adapter. These also go for about $15. These lenses are cheaper since they are older. They’re also very robust in design and easy to use.

Hi guys,

Two questions in one, hoping someone can help me out.

I have gone from Sony Vegas to Premier for my workflow it makes more sense. I do live stuff as well. I wanted to know how you guys import the footage in. As when I've tried in the past it makes each photo 5 seconds long as I remember even as a image sequence. Would love to know the correct settings to adjust this.

My other question relates to lens. Now I've gone down to two lens that I own and neither have capabilities of macro or getting really close. Generally being about 30cm away before it's able to focus. Can anyone recommend a full frame lens for a Canon camera that would work great for stop motion? I don't mind if it's a vintage lens or manual only. As my budget is up to $200 at the moment, maybe a little more. Would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.
