Probably from you checking every minute.

Are views going to help develop your animation program? Does having support really matter to you? Most people just do what they want to do, support or no support. You want to make an animation program? Go for it. What do you need from us? You didn't ask for money, ideas, directions to a job listing site to hire a programmer, etc. We're not sure what you want.

Sounds like you just want attention to your idea. That's fine and it's not working out. Go back to the drawing board and try again or just focus on working on your animation program. The rest of the animation community aren't holding their breathes. They got videos to make, contests to prepare for, etc. You have an animation program ready for us to use, great, show it to us.

Like others said, it's not a piece of cake to create a somehow complex program. Sometimes, coding a simple algorithm takes a lot of time, just because you've made a simple mistake; or in php language, when you forget a simple semicolon, everything (not everything but...) stop working.
But, don't be demotivated! Get your hands in work and start coding today. If you're searching for a simple language, try Python. Html is for webpages and I don't prefer developing a program with it.

Good luck!

I'd suggest you share your progress here and let us know when we can try your program out. :)
I'm currently working on HD for Boats Animator! :) But yes software development is not easy, and takes a rather long time. I do agree that none of the free programs available right now are ideal though. In my experience I've found it difficult to people willing and with the adequate skills to work on a program. Boats Animator is still in development though, I'm just a busy person!

Heron Animation, seems to be the most popular free choice recently but it has quite a few bugs. I hope it will be made open source one day so people can fix them!

I've looked at a lot of free stop motion programs and Animashooter Junior seems like it might be worth checking out (scroll down for the free "junior" version):

I'll wait till it can shoot in HD. I'll check out Animashooter Junior.
Btw do you know any good laptops

Right now me and two other guys are working on the program. If anyone wants to join, just write here (i'll be checking this post every minute :shifty: ). Anyone know a good name for the software?
Mkay, so not to burst your bubble, but if you're not a coder, you're not really qualified to make a program or lead others to make a program. Many have tried to do this, but also most have failed.

Check out Boats Animator (http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/topic/21891/boats-animator-free-opensource-stop-motion-program/), it's free. It's still also very limited so it doesn't even do HD yet, but if you want to contribute, maybe you can. Though, they're looking for competent coders instead of just UI designers.

Yeah, unless you have the knowledge and skill to code one yourself, you'll just ended up as a short lived project, best case scenario you get to biscuit level. some people can code and are making software but being a hobby these take a while to fix issues and add features (like boats and heron).
Biscuit level would be great. Well it could turn out better...
Have you tried Heron Animation? It's a free stop motion software that is made by a fellow member of Bricksinmotion. It's a good software that some animators use. Some of those animators even placed in contests such as brawl. If you have a decent webcam, I would recommend getting Heron Animation. The only downside is you can only export the frames, but you can put it in your video editor or Monkey Jam to get the frames exported as a video. There is also Helium Frog for webcams too and it's a decent software as well. There should be a thread that lists free softwares for stop motion.
Thanks, but Heron Animation crashes my computer. But it seems good.
Helium frog doesn't even open.
Monkeyjam doesn't find my webcam.
Biscuit can't film 16:9.
Jellycam can only film 460 p.
But still, thanks a lot.
