That looked great, the chroma keying was very clean, though as you mentioned yourself the green reflected back onto the eagle. The only other thing I might add is that the approaching motion looked a bit mechanical. Perhaps you could try animating the bird's forward movement in camera as well. Though for what you were testing out, the result looks great.

https://youtu.be/A_rUJ_85NWo

I animated an eagle behind a green screen in stop motion, then I put it into HitFilm, masked it, and keyed it. Then I created a separate composite shot with a four-point gradient plane and generated clouds. I put the masked shot into this new composite shot, moved/scaled it around with key frames, and added motion blur. The titles were also customized in HitFilm with a radial gradient and a text layer, and I moved the text around with key frames, again putting a motion blur on the movement. I think it turned out ok, like it is probably my best VFX work, but it could be better. I do not plan to use this kind of VFX very much if at all, but this was good practice for me anyway.

One of the main problems I had while working on this shot was that the camera captured some green on the object itself. This green of course came from the green posterboard behind it and it reflected off the object. I didn't know how to fix this, but after watching some tutorials on the HitFilm website, I learned about several tools used in keying to make the effect look believable, including Spill Remover, Matte Cleanup, etc.
