Partners in Slime is finally here!

Here's the BiM thread, or you can head straight to YouTube.

This will be my last Scooby-Doo project for a while. I have other ideas, but I'm stuck back into uni life, so I'm prioritising my MBU projects to work on in the little time I now have to animate. Rest assured, there's some more Scooby-Doo coming eventually, and you'll be able to follow that in this production thread, but it may not be for a while.

Update #8

Quite a quick update, since I don't have anything knew to show. I just got back to university a couple of days ago, and while I can animate again, I've brought up less LEGO than I did last year so my set-building capabilities are quite limited. Before I settle into Partners in Slime again I need to adjust some of the script and re-storyboard a montage, so while I get on with that I'll slowly be animating Vampire Egress (which isn't Scooby-Doo).

I'm also talking to another brickfilmer (I won't say who until we have some more concrete news) about a two-part Scooby-Doo adventure, made between the two of us. It's an exciting prospect, especially since they're such a talented brickfilmer, and always a pleasure to work with.

I've also been thinking of new monster ideas, and the Halloween collectible minifigures have helped in that respect. Expect more zombies, flies, gargoyles, yokai, and maybe the return of Fangus McDripper...

Update #7

After a few days of being relatively inactive on this, I've finally got back into my stride and done quite a bit of animating and editing today.

Here's a little preview. It's basically what I've managed to edit, there's probably another 10 seconds or so that I haven't edited yet. There are some bugs with the chroma keying - I can't seem to keep the Moat Monster's hands but lose the sky, minor stuff like that.

And yes, that's two separate monster minifigures  When I first saw that the lighthouse set was going to have a recolour of the Monster Fighters swamp monster I was delighted, and this whole brickfilm is basically built around finding a story to have them in the same room together.

The voice of Daphne definitely isn't, as she is my mother, but I can certainly ask the voice of Dr Ike.

Update #6
It would be a bit false of me to say filming on Partners in Slime has begun in earnest, because it hasn't really, but I've been working on the more complex establishing/landscape shots while I finish the script.

This opening shot isn't final: thanks to some cogent suggestions by AFewGoodFilms, I'm going to try adding fog, more seagulls, and I'm going to move the lighthouse to the left a bit. In general though, I'm roughly pleased with how it looks. What would people think of me adding a boat somewhere out on the water too? I really want this opening shot to stand out.

EDIT: Now that I've updated it, I may as well share it :)

I loved the alien, a combo of the stereotypical alien from Collectible series 6 and something from Pharoah's quest (or the new Scooby Doo mummy set). And there is the famous line from the unmasked villain!

PS LOVE THE SET FOR EPISODE 2!!!!!!!
