I was surprised to see you back! (And to see ep 3 bumped up)! CJA! It's so good to see you again!

And I hope to see Joe Brickmond 18!

not to mention your other fine work.

People who are new to BiM in the past year, it is because of CJA, and the inspiration of his excellent series, JOE BRICKMOND, which everyone must watch, there would be no Holding Our Own. He is the one to thank/blame.

As an aside, Mattel bought Mega Brands last winter.

I really loved that. Great humor and storyline :) I feel that this is a really good lesson on how exposing yourself to the wrong things can negatively influence you.
I feel bad for not watching it when it was first posted. I've been away from the Brickfilm scene for quite a while and I'm getting back into it recently. I totally forgot that my sister had done a voice in this one :D
Loved the Mega Bloks reference as well

Hey, Funmi, I really loved your "Hollow Earth" series and because my films are so long, always appreciate the dedication and perseverance of all you who make longer films. I love writing & composing the music for the series too. Did you know that I actually composed the opening and closing themes' melodies in the mid-1990s? Until I began HOO, never found any suitable lyrics to match them too. And be sure to let DarthVincentPrice know how much you loved his singing! He really is hilarious. When he auditioned, he directed to me to this video, upon viewing I loved it so much that I KNEW he had to be the voice of Johnny Strange!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w2aSuh_v3Q

If you think he's funny in episode 3, wait until his performance in Episode 4, which I'd love to spoil but I can't!

It was a rough one to get produced, but your generous comments motivate me to continue despite the difficulty I faced. And to those who commented that are already looking forward to episode 4, be relieved that, God willing, it won't take nearly as long as the wait between 2 and 3.

You have improved some much since the last episode. I loved it. Your writing was sharp, giving each of your characters their own personally, instead of one sided characters. The animation did filter every now and then, but it didn't take away from the main product. I admire that you write your own original songs each episode. Whether Johnny sings, I laugh out loud. I also praise you for making a 20 min+ animation, since I know how long it takes just to make 10 min. Good job, and I can't wait for more episodes.

Your comments have been generous. Thank you all.

The technical problems were apparent and you've all been nice to overlook them. I want you to know that they were much much worse before the two months I spent just fixing the worst offenders, especially when Angela entered in segment 3.

I'm looking forward to Funmi's review, and I'll respond a little more later. As for now, I'm very tired from the roject and am taking a few days off. I'm also tired from a city-wide yard sale. I hit every one in 3 1/2 hours. It was complicated becaus emy son thought it would be fun to put a barbecue sauce serving on my seat and when I sat down, it splated all over. I found a shirt in the next yard sale that was one size too small and beer-themed, and I'm a toal non-drinker. It's black and absorbs the heat in this sunny New Jersey day. Thanks for taking the time to watch; I know it's a longer one.

I can't tell you how much fun it is to be a part of this! Each episode gets better and better. If I am enjoying a film, I don't care about minor flickers and "flaws," and I enjoyed this very much! The pacing was great, I always appreciate your original music, and I am especially loving some of the running gags that you are putting in each show. I am so glad that you are producing a sitcom so we can enjoy these "inside jokes" as we get to know and relate to the characters better.

This episode was fantastic and well paced.
You always know you are watching something good when the run time go's by real quick.
You should seriously consider doing a how to video on how to create and film a successful brick sitcom.
Five stars bud.
Really should be ten though.

According to Vimeo, HOO3, received 37 views on April 31. I am in the midst of the PayPal transaction for $37. I also gave the wrong web URL. It's:

http://faces4autism.org

Correction #2: the stat was 1 in 68, not 1 in 69. I mistyped.

I'm so happy that Unknown Brick, you really enjoyed Episode 3. It makes all the work worthwhile knowing that the result made someone smile.

And the police officer in the episode, J Karson, is actually someone I thought was a BiM member, and turns out he wasn't. He did just register and appears in the BiM diretory credits as the user "foobwhisperer".

April is Autism Awareness Month

I wanted to post HOO3 sooner, because I wanted do do this through more of April. One in 69 children has autism. Did you know that New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the USA? For every view that HOLDING OUR OWN: Episode 3 receives before Vimeo declares today (and thus the month) over, I'll personally
donate $1 to FACES, an autism suport group that serves children in NJ and their families. It costs you nothing. All you have to do is watch. (...And you may think that watching is payment enough!)

Also, if you're feeling generous and wish to make a donation yourself, the web site is http://faces.org. (It also saves you from having to watch!) FACES appreciates any donation amount, no matter how small.
