Oscar winner Michael Giacchino makes a great soundtrack. Especially John Williams. Hans Zimmer always tries something new, making his musical OST a new thing. Brian Tyler, even though his OST is nice, it sometimes has the same beat as his other soundtracks. Henry Jackman's is just OK.

Also, the TRON: Legacy soundtrack is, without a doubt, the only good thing to ever come out of Daft Punk. Not all the tracks are that great, but some are just thrilling to listen to. I've actually never seen either of the movies in that franchise, but after listening to some of the tracks, I might give the movies a chance in the near-future. Plus, going from Steve Aoki to "Derezzed" or "The Game Has Changed" during a techno/house jam session during Biology offers naught but progressive house pleasure.
The TRON: Legacy soundtrack is amazing, and one of all time favorite soundtracks. I do agree with you that some tracks are better than others, but as a whole the score is phenomenal. My favorites are "Rinzler," "Recognizer," and probably "Arrival," but I really do enjoy all of them. And you really should give the movies a chance. Tron: Legacy is by far one of my favorite movies, and I don't exactly see why so many people despise it and it's prequel.
True. I always hum its soundtrack.

Here are some that I give a hands up:

Tomorrowland End Credits by Michael Giacchino: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M3pUZsC2HIk

Avengers The New Avengers by Brian Tyler and Danny Elfman: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=93aCwnlTvJY

Man of Steel Main Theme by Hans Zimmer: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pX3coWDnTrU

The Adventures of Tintin Track 1 by John Williams: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pX3coWDnTrU

In addition to some of the other soundtracks already cited, I'm quite partial to the Person of Interest soundtrack. Listening with a Million Ears and A Bored Rich Guy are particularly good. I find the soundtrack and the show itself to be amazingly good and criminally under-rated (it's slightly awkward that nobody I know, outside of some people on BiM, know about it, especially when I mention it's my favourite show or reference it and everybody looks at me with a blank face).

The Fringe soundtrack is wonderful also. I really wish there was a longer version of the main theme.

Another favourite of mine is the music for Team Fortress 2. MEDIC! is probably my favourite, but it has a lot of great soundtracks (I also quite like Spy's music, as well as The Calm and It Hates Me So Much).

Yep, Zimmer, Williams, Elfman. They're all great. Anything with a harmonium or an organ from Interstellar, undoubtedly ties with any end-credits track from TDK or TDKR for the spot of being my personal favourite track from Hans.

But, once in awhile, a new musician will come in and make a soundtrack that really blows me away. A lot of Alexandre Desplat's work is really great, especially for Tree of Life, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Imitation Game. They all have something new to offer, and his sound has inspired me the most. Tree of Life offers daunting piano music. Fantastic Mr. Fox includes honky-tonk, backwoods banjo riffs that are a lot of fun to listen to. And The Imitation Game abounds in complex and mesmerizing technical tunes that are simple, but beautiful.

Also, the TRON: Legacy soundtrack is, without a doubt, the only good thing to ever come out of Daft Punk. Not all the tracks are that great, but some are just thrilling to listen to.
Pretty Much the first soundtrack I actually cared for as a whole:

The Rocketeer

Though, since then, I've found myself purchasing many soundtrack albums just for their beautiful scores. Case in point:

Atlantis the Lost Empire - Expedition Crew's Music, "Atlantan Civilization's" Music, and this little snippet.

I just love those old style, over the top and very whimsical scores like those seen in Star Wars and Indiana Jones. But, I'm also a sucker for those 1950's and earlier massively epic pieces that nearly out-shined anything that could be done on film at the time.

Here's a great example.
