I've been thinking of doing a test like this. Did you just move the bullet at an angle while spinning it, or put it in a fixed position and move the camera around it?
I simply placed the bullet on a spinning brick and animated it rotating 180 degrees. I then animated the man on a spinning brick at roughly the same pace of rotation. I then animated them on motion paths in sony vegas and keyed out the green screen. I also scaled the bullet way down. It was kind of complicated and im sure their are easier ways of doing this but since I dont really understand CGI lego models in blender this works fine for me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bcp3ZRUBbQ8

Edit: I dont want to misslead anybody. The bullet was not CGI or the man but I did slightly help the effect by panning in just a little bit on the bullet, and out a bit on the man to help the effect. If that is GGI then sorry, but I didnt use blender or anything fancy. Just Sony vegas 8.0 pro, and stop motion of course.
