The only free program that I can think of is FramebyFrame, but as you said, it's a pretty faulty program, which I completely agree with.(I've had that some crash problem before) I used SAM Animation for quite awhile, and it was a pretty decent program, although it is $30.00 USD. Right now I use iStopmotion which is actually a pretty decent program. If your pretty serious about brickfilming again, I really suggest you save up some good money and invest in a good frame capture program. I'd also advise getting a program called Webcam Settings to control your Webcam's exposure, white balance, focus, etc. It's only $7.00 USD on the App Store. Hope you can find a decent solution.

Well I actually think that more profesional animators have a long kept secret that they prefer Mac, although they keep it on the exclusive side of things. No sharing.

Anyway, I was also going to suggest SAM Animation, and I even had a spare key for it I could have sent your way, but it seems that the company that made that software now doesn't make it anymore.
Also, please don't tell me to get a PC.
Ah. That's a problem. The market share of Macs versus PCs means that niche programs such as stop motion animators rarely make it over to Apple's side. (Including Monkeyjam which is definitely not available)

I understand you're on a budget but the only real options are iStopMotion or Dragonframe which are certainly not free.

The main Free stop motion Program for Mac was FrameByFrame but as you said it is a bit glitchy and it seems it doesn't seem to exist anymore! As an alternative there is very little , You could always install windows (which is possible) but that presents the Risk of viruses. There are free trials of Software Such as iStopmotion . i use SAM animation which is good for chroma keying.

I have not made a stop motion video in forever, but I'm tired of not making full length films anymore and I was wondering if some Mac users here could help me out.

I am trying to find a free Mac program that I can use to animate, I have already tried frame by frame but on my computer it doesn't work, it crashes after about 10 seconds. Also, I'm on a tight budget, as in I'm $30 in debt and I have no job so I'm only able to use free programs. I am looking for a program that lets me do frame capturing, as I don't like the frame-importing method very much.

Also, please don't tell me to get a PC. Like I said earlier, I have no money, and also I don't want to buy a PC just so I can make animations.

Thank you.
