T2i and T3i don't have the option to shoot photos at 16:9.
I don't know about the T2i, but you can take 16:9 pictures in camera with the T3i.
I compared Repelling Spider's picture's in his production video with the ones in his Picnic video. It seems that he didn't crop his pictures. Is there any other option besides cropping.
He took the pictures with the Canon EOS Utility program, put the pictures into WLMM and set it to 16:9 aspect ratio. He might not do that anymore, but that's what he has done. So, whatever pictures you take, put em into WLMM and set it to 16:9 aspect ratio.

well you can just shoot in the aspect ratio if your camera lets you (that what i do then i crop it to make it look cinematic depending on the type of video) another option that i see used a lot (too much) is just streaching the image but i do NOT recommend it so im gonna go ahead and say cropping is your best bet

Although some animators crop to image to 16:9, and then add black bars at the top and bottom to simulate a 1:2.35 ratio film in a 16:9 viewer. (RP does that a lot.)

RP and MonsieurCaron's films are in 16:9, what I'm guessing, and RP correct me if I'm wrong, they shoot at a 3:2 aspect ratio, and then crop the shot to 16:9 in post. This is common practice in the brickfilming community, as the Canon T2i and T3i, the most common DSLRs used for brickfilming, don't have the option to shoot photos at 16:9.

There are black bars on the sides of my videos. My pictures are in a 3:2 aspect ratio. When I upload my videos to YouTube which has an aspect ratio of 16:9, the black bars appear. I saw other animators like Repelling Spider and MonsieurCaron do not have this problem event though they shoot at a 3:2 aspect ratio too. I hope to hear from you if you can provide some advice on how to fix this problem without cropping pictures. Thanks :)
