Thanks :D, the first inset lighting that I have ever used. The animating time was lengthy for this shot because I had to take the roof off for adjusting each frame, hopefully the other sets will be more open. I now have 13 of 19 sections of the movie done XD. I have had to put in very long nights resently to do this, so I am running on coffee right now :twitch:, back to animating.

@Tilted Angles Discussion, It's confession time.
Hello, I'm Pritchard Studios and I'm addicted to tilted angles. I got into doing them to impress a fellow member named Squid. He was popular, he was amazing, I wanted him to notice me. He said he liked titled angles so I did a few. He noticed and encouraged me down that path. I liked his commenting on my stuff, and liked the look, so I kept doing them. I place all the blame at his feet. I am getting over my addiction. My victory today was filming several shots today without once tilting the camera.
And that's all I have to share today. :eh: :P

Seriously though, I like the look, and use them for extra drama/weirdness. If somebody is going insane or doing really dramatic stuff or whatever, I'll use one. But I agree that they can be over-used, or are not always the best choice. I'm getting more into using special lighting for that now when possible, but also like combining the two and doubling the cool factor.

In other news, my composer hasn't responded in a week. That's odd...Seeing as he said that he'd be e-mailing me Mark 2 last Monday. Thankfully I have the first draft that I could use, but it's not what it could be. Will wait a few more days before declaring him MIA, but not happy about that right now.

Nice to see the prizes getting better and better as we go along. If this keeps up, there's no telling what the winners will get come September.

Yeah, mine doesn't look like much is odd, but it's part of the film, and what's going on in it.
Also, I agree, that they are good to increase the drama or the oddness of the shot.

It's a Squid thing. He really likes them.
I am not actually sure why it is that I am obsessed with slants. Though it may be because many shows and films I adore use them occasionally. I just made films, and they ended up being slanted. I usually do it for shots which are more dramatic or absurd.
I tend to have a lot of absurd characters, so slants occur with a high frequency in my films.

I seem to have inadvertently started a slant movement.

It's usually a very easy way to please me, though, I find an incorrectly used slant to be disturbing. The angle should match the dramatic look/madness of the subject of the shot. The more over-the-top, the more the slant. Also, an extremely slight slant should not be used, as it give the impression that it's slightly off by accident rather than intent.
For just a regular shot with nothing particularly special, the camera really should be straight. Though, I'm not actually sure why the two previous frames posted here are slanted. They don't seem very dramatic to me. Then again, I'm not really sure what's happening in them. Though, the second one might warrant a medium slant.

Another reason is that I am madly obsessed with order. Making my camera sit perfectly level is very difficult and drives me crazy. Just giving it an intentional slant is much more simple.

My sense of order is not upset by slants since I feel that switching consistently from left to right slants balances it out.

Thanks Pritchard, at least someone was looking forward to it. Yeah, I will just do what I can, and if I don't finish for the contest, then I will really take my time to make it good in post-production and release it soon after.
I don't understand the obsession with this. A large amount of overtly distorted shots can be relatively distracting from the film. I find a well positioned stable shot much more effective than a bunch of "cool" tilted shots.
I personally use tilted angles very little, and it looks just fine. But there are certain moods that you can bring out with tilted cams that are very sweet. It's just that most animators don't know when the tilted angles add to the awesomeness of the a movie, or are just the distracting factor.

Seems BRAWL has taken most of the steam out of this thread, so are people just not posting, or is it that they're all still recovering from that week-long ordeal?

Also, did I forget to say that the bonus scene is back in? It's great.
Tilted angles, life-lights, and a bright blue flashlight, how could it possible fail?
The thing is a touch over four minutes total, making it my fourth longest film...Which certainly says something.
