The quality is chalky and rough, sort of like Mega Blocks, so my fingers hurt. :( Also, the mechanics of the hinge atop the roof (so one side of the car opens completely) is poor and it keeps falling apart. This is true. Free shipping does not come with speedy delivery. :P I need three cars, but I bought one just to try it out so I don't waste my money.

First, spending $20 on something that will only be in one shot is probably not the best use of your money.

If you're planning on using it and/or most of the parts later, then go ahead. But remember that the quality will be noticeably lower. I can't find any recent reviews of Enlighten stuff on Eurobricks, but here's one post that may help:
As far as the quality comparison goes... If normal LEGO is 100% and "dissolve if you touch them" hypothetical bricks are 0% I would put Enlighten and Oxford (as well as LEGO's lower quality China parts) in the 90-95% range. MegaBloks would be in the 70-80% range.....
(Keep in mind that the above post is now over a year old, and a lot can change in a year.)

Going off of that, it sounds like an OK deal, even if I am (Generally) a Lego purist.
And one final thing, shipping from Hong Kong WILL take close to an eternity. So be sure to order it far in advance. ;)

One of my friends found a huge box of K'nex bricks and he used them to build a room in his film. I don't like using the bricks because I don't wanna support the ripoffs, but I gotta admit, the bricks looked rather swell with the rounded corners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coHvcGU5EjM
I shop at thrift stores and garage sales often, and sometimes I will find a large box of Legos. Then I realize that there are various non-lego pieces mixed in. In this situation I do not hesitate to use them but I don't really have the motivation to buy them.
That's my opinion, but I really think that you should just go with whatever you think you need to do to make your film the best possible product. Heck, I am considering using actual carpet in a film... As a carpet!

So, I'm creating a train set for my silent brickfilm The Hazards of Henry, and in order to save a lot of money I'm going to buy this:

It's an ENGLIGHTEN DELUXE PASSENGER CAR. They sell on eBay for $19.00 a piece with free shipping from Hong Kong.
I'm ashamed of myself, yet it's for one scene. Thoughts? :/
