Don't worry; I downloaded it recently and everything's fine. Lots of other people have used it as well.

I think you're dad's just telling you to beware of free downloads. But it's okay when many people tell you that it's safe.

You're mistaken in your assessment of GIMP. While its usability can be a bit challenging, it's a powerful program - especially considering the low, low pricetag. If you're having trouble with viruses, you need to be careful where you're trying to download it from. One consistently safe place for downloads of all types is www.cnet.com. I am aware of Gimp, but that program, really is very bad. I can easily give viruses to your computer. And also, whenever I see a link that isn't blue, I just copy and paste it in the website search bar. Be creative!

So I was wondering. How could animate a fairly decent star ship traveling through space, without getting really big, expensive programs. I've recently learned that you can do effects on iMovie, but I'm not sure you can make the ship fly across the screen, without supports.

Here is the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy2rxrBVuyE&list=UU1PU4OSblj59LJWlvmEZUlw&index=0&feature=plcp

So here's my other question. Could I possibly do some masking or something similar with iMovie? I've heard Final Cut can do stuff like that, but like I said, can't afford it. (Sorry this is kinda in the wrong forum, but I had two topics I wanted to cover, so.)
